WILE E. COYOTE 3
Out on my permission last night, i came accross a snared fox lying dead against a hedge, i took the snare and put it in my bag to show the land owner, and left the fox alone, any way two rabbits later along the same hedge, i heard some weard noise i hav'nt heard before, and looking for it i came across 3 very young fox cubs alone in a shallow hole about 2ft deep x 2ft wide, under an old oak, i know the dead fox was a vixen, so could these be her cubs? they looked so cute, but obviously starving, i chucked in a rabbit and left them. If this is poachers on my permission, should i call the police if i see them, or tackle them myself? i know that it spoilt my evenings shooting. Quote Link to post

WILE E. COYOTE 3
very late to be finding young cubs This is what i thought, but if you take the urban foxes around here, we have had cubs as late as september, and on one occasion there was a litter born on september 28th and thats documented in our local free paper with photo's. In my area there is way two many urban foxes. Quote Link to post
paulus 26
thats strange aswell as envoirnment should have no impact on a species breeding cycle. 2 Quote Link to post

Lewis Ste 245
What type of land is it on? Is there a local syndicat shoot in the area? The farmer may have the vermin shooting rights but not the shooting rights of the land so one of the members who overlook the shoot may be taking it upon them selfs if they see a fox and no one controlling them. I dout it's poachers because most poachers are in it for the sport and that's not sport snaring its more likely someone from a shoot doing it. We have people who come on our shoot and takes care of our "problems" Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
i agree with above i and loads of mates were poachers and snaring isnt a poachers way no sport in it and thats what made it worth the trouble -and if i where you i wouldnt approach ANY poachers alone as it might get a bit tasty-billy Quote Link to post
terryd 8,636
Why would people poach foxes not like there good for any thing though once upon a time you could sell the pelts but obviously not this time of year Quote Link to post
paulus 26
when fishing, sometimes even with the best placed baits, a bite doesnt always occur "tug on the line" maybe you should have shot the cubs 1 Quote Link to post
