Pups 5 1/2 months old now just measured her at 16 inces tts..the sire was about 20 tts and dam was approx 16 tts.. I know this is a small type breed dog but do you think she would maybe reach the sire size of the scale? If she makes at least 18 inches I'd be dead happy but any small would maybe deem her usless on the rabbits lol what do you think guys? Cheerz

My bed/whip x collie/grey/whip is 18 inch at 9 months and i cant see her getting much bigger, seemed to not grow for a while then shoot up a bit at a time. Atb.

I had A bedi whipet few years bak she was 16 1/2 tts used to have to pick her up to show her the beam and it was nearly certain she,d catch that rabbit.loved the x dem and bedi gh x but cant seem to find ne decent ones around nw.

Cheerz lads for her size she really is quite quick was out walking with the family the other day and there was an older couple with a young pair of whippets and she was keeping up with them. She's not for big bags of rabbits anyway, only 2-5 every couple of nights. So next year when she's ready to get going hopfully shell be ok!

I wouldn't worry she will be fine as a kid this little thing was a demon. She wasn't fast due too her size maybe but more than made up for it when the turning started

Is 18" supposed to be the 'minimum' height to be able to catch a rabbit on the straight like?

No don't think so mate its just what I've heard from different peoples views of small typ lurchers and whipets that anything smaller than around 18" wouldn't be much cop on the straight butthen that's where they're turning ability comes into form.

I never measured to be honest but she was small here she is next too my old JR and he had no problem getting too foxes underground as a comparison

Wow you can telll she was small!...and you say she was a demon on the rabbits!? I suppose if you put the time effort and enter the dog right and pick your runs it really dosnt matter how tall or small your dog is...it do suprise me when people say italian greyhounds are usless then because there can't be much different in size there either? Or am I being silly? Lol either way still cracking little dog you had there mate.

Dont worry about it will still catch we dogs are great fun to watch working can be great through cover and also a great we ferreting dog had a we collie x at 17tts great we dog for bolting rabbits you will have great fun with your dog good luck

She was great her best night as I remember was 21 but that was one night I was just greedy. She thought nothing of storming up the inside of hedge after a rabbit when they thought they were home and dry when we were lamping

Sounds like I really havnt got much to worry about..sod it aint gonna bother listening to mates and worrying about having a small lurcher. Who needs a 23" power house of a dog when I've got something that fits in the hood of my coat lmao! Cheerz lads.

Indeed they do! Saw some piks of your dogs northernlite, what do you use yours for how are they on the rabbits? Have they dabbled in anything bigger? Don't have to answer for obvious reasons tho lol
