Millet 4,497
There is more to falconry than most folk think..although i think you are messing about when you say you are thinking of giving the lurcher's up..if you do decide to go the falconry route take your time to learn a good year before you think about getting a hawk. 3 Quote Link to post

Good advice from millet, i got into falconry while at school and when i left i got a job doing bird control on the airbases and refuse sites down south. Had a good crack as a seventeen year old living on my own down there with my birds, when i think what i paid for a harris back then. But gave it all up when i met a falconer down there who used to dig and lamp. Thats when i got on the rocky road to dogs ! LOL Cheers Atb Quote Link to post

I your right millet, ive flew an imprint spar and there not for novices or kids at falconry center's . Fantastic little birds and are very under rated, also was lucky enough whilst darn sarf to witness merlins lark hawking on an airdrome, those ringing flights are something else Cheers Atb 2 Quote Link to post

Guest first light
how do you get fit and no them are fit Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,869
how do you get fit and no them are fit Just get them free flying to the fist again as they are left in the aviary during the moult , a couple of days free flying brings them back to full fitness levels plus we fly them around factories and that scaring problem birds away Quote Link to post
Guest first light
them hares are big it will take a lot out of the bird to kill it i think do they do just do one or two kills or more Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,869
A female harris will nail a few hares, but kill rabbits all day. We normally ferret the rabbits for the hawks Quote Link to post
