charlie caller 3,654
@charlie I sell scopes, I test them and I take care for warranty claims when they come back. Pro Staff is not as sharp as Vortex Diamondback or Bushnell Banner. End of story for me.... If you believe me or not its your choice. I also have to say that I do not care about user reviews since most of the users does not have more than 10 scopes in the entire life and they almost never compare different scopes side by side. They buy one scope and after that it is for them the best scope on the market. I on the other hand have the privilege that I am able to compare scopes side by side and can form an unbiased opinion. Still, you don't have to believe me... As a general remark I also think that "Buy cheap, buy twice" absolutely stands correct regarding sport optics. It is not a matter of not beleiving you, I am sure you are a man of integrity, however despite the fact that you are in the fortunate position of having a desk top full of scopes to look at,this whole debate boils down to one thing opinion,as stated I have been shooting for 30+ years and have used/owned a huge variety of scopes, the good ,bad and ugly,so I like to think I have a reasonable eye to determine a good scope, well it just so happens I was in a gunshop yesterday and had a look at a bushnell banner, and it was not too bad,I realise that looking out onto the street is not a good test for any scope, however I will maintain that the edge to edge clarity was not as good as my Nikon!! it is of course possible that this was a poor example, and may be on its way soon to your very desk for repair, but I have to say for me at the cheaper end of the market I will be sticking to Nikon, and shortly I will be in the terrible position of choosing a high end scope, now lets think Nikon Monarch x or............ De_Tomaso 0
We have different opinions, there is nothing wrong with that. Nikon Monarch X opposite to ProStaff is IMHO optically great and only real other option in this price range is IOR. Anyone of these is a great choice in 1000-1200€ price range and will not let you down. Quote Link to post
3175darren 1,100
IOR Scopes are hard to come by over here, border barrels were the last peolple I know to deal in them, and I think they have stopped now, Quote Link to post
De_Tomaso 0
It is no problem to order them from EU and given the Pound - Euro ration this is even more economical. Quote Link to post
