firstcross 0
For those of you that have had dogs stolen or attempted thefts, what time of day were the thefts made? Was it while you were at work or at night? I really do think some sort of national survey should be done to help determine trends and where theft hotspots are etc and what security measures were in place. It'll help people know what to do to help prevent dog thefts. I had my bitch picked up and ran off with at the midlands game fair however I kept hold of the lead so i got her back but that year 3 springer pups and there mother were stolen that year iv never taken any dogs there since , its sad that people can live with them selves after taking such a massive part of some ones lives even though I orginally have got the dogs I have to course there still a huge part of the family and my life Quote Link to post

jen.d 0
we had our 3 took at 1 in the afternoon even managed to get by the collie what was on the gate an shes not food orientated yet the copper that come that night couldnt. so there good at what they do. the thiefs what took ours lived at nottingham members of the irish community did a job down the road doing gardening so got to know our movements. luckily we got one back after she was dumped in crewe a year later but nothing ever came of the other 2, but got a number of dodgy characters that have taken up jobs as satalite dish repair men so they get a great view into the gardens while there up there. Know what you mean about them coming masked up etc. But you have to make it look as though it's not worth bothering even trying. CCTV, The best locks available and a dog that's as keen as they come is all you can do. Since my CCTV has been installed I've not had anyone knocking on the door for scrap, etc so up to now it's having the desired effect. Quote Link to post
