johnny boy68 11,726
That sound about right THEM chaps who say they do that in a year.. ARE telling porky.s I normally average around 3,500 rabbits a year and I would say the dog accounts for around half of them so that's a fair few in a lifetime ............. THAT to me sounds about right, in 12 month thats good going mate,, In the earlier post people catching 1500 are telling porkies but when socks says he's catching over double that you say thats about right. you should make your mind up. Snifferboy 659
FUUUUCCCCCKKKKKIIIINNNGGGG Hell!!!! I'm gonna keep count this season to see where I should base myself in this country! I'm guessing 40 a season for me is good going!!! I'm not out every night but as often as my wife will allow !!! If I see 20 rabbits a night I would be amazed and if I could get the dog close enough to them that would be even better!!!! The most rabbits I have ever had on the ground I run is 6 a night and the farmer still talks about that down the pub now!!! What a night!!! Ha Ha! Well, good job I don't rely on lamping for business, just pleasure 4 Quote Link to post

chartpolski 24,707
Often wondered how many kills a dog makes in its lifetime, my saluki whip in 5 seasons has taken 1500 plus rabbits to some guys may sound a lot but ive no doubt some guys on here think thats nothing and may well be to their dogs kill rate, so genuine replies please. I stopped keeping records due to work commitments, but would like to hear your comments.YIS KIC. If you have time to work a dog, how can you not find a couple of minutes to record their kills ? I keep a game book, and every single kill/catch is entered. It takes seconds to do, after the dogs have been seen to and the catch sorted out. I think a lot of people don't keep a game book, as it would be an accurate record of what was actualy caught, instead of what they tell their mates they have caught !! LOL !! Cheers. 4 Quote Link to post
