socks 32,253
Actually just looked at the log books and it is closer to 5000 rabbits a year so the dog averages 2,500 .............. Good laugh this site, the land of f*****g make believe at times dont you just love it ,especially that socks .hes the best on here 5000 shushies ,and the dawg got half of em Seeing as I catch rabbits for a living all year round thats very believable ... an average of 150 rabbits a week over 40 weeks comes to 6000 rabbits so pretty easy to do realy and that's without my weekend hunting on the plains which normally equates to a hundred rabbits .... I have had 4 guys on this site work with me over the last few weeks and between the both jobs which took 15 days we killed over 400 rabbits ...... So John John just cos you ain't seen it don't mean it isn't true ......... 6 Quote Link to post
Richard Morgan 38
why? How long a "course" do you expect to see on a rabbit ? Cheers. dog got one this morning over about 30 yards but ive seen some good runs on the lamp especially maybe 10-12 turns a few off the dyke. johnny boy68 11,726
That sound about right THEM chaps who say they do that in a year.. ARE telling porky.s I normally average around 3,500 rabbits a year and I would say the dog accounts for around half of them so that's a fair few in a lifetime ............. THAT to me sounds about right, in 12 month thats good going mate,, In the earlier post people catching 1500 are telling porkies but when socks says he's catching over double that you say thats about right. you should make your mind up. Are you a bit slow,,lol,,Around the 700 mark in a season, with 1 dog, A season a round the 5 month mark,,I CAN SEE IT BEING DONE, Socks add 7 more month at it,, to get round the 1500 mark,,,Do you get it now,, You wud not be a very good accountant.... Are you slow or do you have trouble reading, now stop back tracking socks just said his dog gets 2500 a year so in 6 months that would work out let me get my calculator lol half of 2500=1250. alimac 882
The thing is people who haven't seen a heavily populated area of rabbits just don't understand the numbers you can take in a night or year, I think they would pass out at the first gate if I took them to ground iv ran with the dogs, feck me we've done over a ton with bull x's in about 3 hours, yes a fair few squatters amongst them but when there's that number of rabbits in a field you can't just go and kick it up so you can have a decent run, it just don't work like that no matter how much you would want it.. You none believers of number possibilitys stick to your 6 bunnies seen per night, I truly hope you enjoy them, but until you've seen decent numbers field after field night after night then you can't really comment on what's possible.. 4 Quote Link to post

That way every slip would be a massive drawn out affair, imagine how rewarding it would be! Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,164
Pre ban I used to catch more long ears than bunnys. My old dog would average about 100 a year if he remained injury free. As for rabbits, the most I've ever dogged in one sitting is 16, but that's the fens for you. Quote Link to post

nasher1 258
Fair play to you lot if you got the numbers on the land I can expect a four hour walk for half a dozen runs its been like that for years now by me, the last time I flicked the lamp on and it looked like the ground was moving is just a distant memory now Quote Link to post
