Irish Lurcher 1,013
Right lads here is step one of the Comp. Have a look at the rules and let me know your feed back regarding same. Step two will be to collect fees and arrange dates,, then set the prize structure to be agreed by all. Rule’s re Lamping Competition Entrance fee is Twenty Euro and will be paid no later than one week before the starting date. All participants must run their own dog. In the event of a dog receiving an injury and cant continue, this dog cannot be replaced and the owner is out of the comp. Each session will last three hours. A judge will be assigned to each session to ensure fair play. The judge will toss a coin before each session to decide who has the first slip. Common sense should prevail regarding the distance of slips, fifty yards has been agreed, and the judge will endorse this rule and deduct a slip if deemed necessary. It is the remit of the dog owner to ensure that his dog is secure on the lead during a course, any case of a dog slipping his collar or lead will result in the rabbit been awarded to the dog on the course regardless if caught or not. Rabbits don’t have to be retrieved to hand to count, once the judge is happy that the rabbit is caught then it counts. Participants are welcome to lamp their own dogs or the judge will oblige if need be. Rabbits are the only quarry that will be counted on the night. I feel it would also be common sense to have lads that live close to each other to run against same in the initial rounds, this would ensure that no body has to travel long distances, as will be the case when the numbers start to drop off during the comp. Lads will then have to arrange to meet lads from other counties in a pre arranged location that should be roughly half way between both parties.
