Royal mail changing posting laws for firearm and parts!! Please read!

Recommended Posts

t I would like to share an email I received from T W Chambers gunmakers whom I ve dealt with in the past and received a fantastic service from.

I publish this "verbatim" and urge anyone who shoots to show support by following the instructions in the emal....

The Royal Mail are proposing changes to ban the posting of firearms, air guns and component parts. This will affect all of our customers if these proposals go through and may result in the closure of T W Chambers and many other UK based gun shops as there is no other alternative service to ship your orders. Please see the Royal Mail link below and respond to it before the 17th Sept 2012. As customers who rely on the Royal Mail to ship your orders to you, then you would be entitled to respond to these proposals. Overseas customers please also respond. Please email your responses to zoe.allchorn@royalmail.com and cc it also to martin.anderson@royalmail.com Link to Royal Mail proposals, http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/Proposals_to_prohibit_Firearms_from_postal_services.pdf Thank You. T W Chambers & Co

I think if these chnges proceed it will be keenly felt in Scotland more so and its 500,000 airgun enthusiasts as well as the rest of the UK

Thank you and feel free to circulate this mail in support of your sporting freedom and rights

I'm going to write also once i've got my head round all the legal mumbo jumbo on the file.

Whats happened to good old petitions where we just sign our name and submit.

Started reading it last night then lost the will half way.

Gonna doit at the weekend.

I think folks is the web has brought us closer together in the hunting community. The downside is that the powers can be dismissive as we are as much a virtual community as physical and you cant hold an email in your hand (unless you print it!). Its another way of tighening the stranglehold on uk society and its civil rights
