I've seen the light!

Good mate of mine (Charlie Caller) has been reloading for years

To me it always seemed like a dark art but he's been going on about I should start reloading for my 6.5 x55.

Anyway I took the plunge and bought a Lee reloading kit and got C Caller round to show me how to go on, first of all there are a few steps BUT it's not that complicated and is infact quite therapeutic once you know what your doing

Well I loaded several bullets with 46 gr H414 with a 100gr hp bullet. And using my 6.5 x55 Tikka T3 with a S&B 8 x 56 scope at a 100 yards zeroing range fired a shot 1" high and 2" to the left.

Quick alteration to bring it over to the right a bit and let drive with three shots......

At 100 yards the three bullet holes in the target could be covered by a 5 pence piece

I don't think I will be going back to factory loads again that's for sure AND to top it all it works out cheaper..!

gona get a lee press kit myself, was gone get a 4 stage press bit everyone tells me to stick to a single phase press instead.

it couldn't be that much harder could it ?

Not quite sure what you mean 4 stage press,do you mean a press that has a turret that will fit 4 dies? unless you are flaring the case neck,or crimping the bullet(a very good idea, although I havent got round to buying the Lee factory crimp die yet :icon_redface: ) you will only be using 2 dies, one to resize the case,(full length,or neck only) and a bullet seating die, so my advice would be keep it simple, buy a press that takes one die and take your time, its not a race, and when you are learning,it is important to go through each stage and understand thoroughly why you are doing it,just my opinion mate, best of luck, any probs, feel free to ask questions.

yeah was watching a guy on utube with 4 stage/4 Die press he only used the 3 of the.

just looks a hell of alot faster but then speed vs accuracy your always better taking ur time to achieve better accuracy.

slot of people seem to slag off lee presses they can be that bad ?

You will find the shooting world full of snobs IE reloading snobs, scope snobs, rifle snobs, brass snobs(could not possibly use anything but lapua you know) let me tell you mate lee presses are fine,as is all lee equipment, and it has a lifetime warranty so if it breaks send it back, my advice stick to a single turret press when you are learning, and leave speed reloading to the very experienced, after all I presume you are loading for deer stalking/foxing,not shooting the taliban? so why the need for all that speed, relax sit there with a brew, take your time and reload some quality ammo, with your Lee gear of course.
