Rm02 6
Had my SGC for a good few years and finally decided to go for an FAC. All been passed, had the interview and have managed to get myself a .22lr and .243 cleared! Cert should be waiting for me when i get home from work tomorrow I've decided to go fro a Howa 1500 for the .243 - not decided on a stock yet. Can anyone chime in who has or has had one? I'm not 100% which feels best to shoot. I know it's generally a personal thing but opinions are always appreciated. I saw online that the varmint barrel was available fluted, does this affect recoil that much? If not I may order the fluted version. A little undecided on Stainless action or blued but am leaning towards blued at the mo. As for the .22 a lovely CZ should do the trick. No need to spend loads on what's going to be the workhorse of my armoury unless there are any decent Sako or Anschultz rifles going? R Quote Link to post
wilbert 6
I am in exactly the same boat as your self. Just waiting for the paperwork to come through and have placed a deposit on a .243 Howa satinless action with laminate thumb hole stock, with scope, mod and sling and also a CZ 452 american.22lr with scope, mod and sling. Both 2nd hand but in good condition and will last me many years. Rabbits, fox and deer better watch out as I have just made some space in the freezer that needs filling. Quote Link to post
Rm02 6
What mod is on your .243? I was thinking maybe a wildcat for mine but not sure what works best. I'll probably go for an american, nice and light! R Quote Link to post
wilbert 6
It comes with a T8 on it. Hopefully FAC should be with me next week so i can report back on how well it performs. Quote Link to post
