lurche 48
has anyone come accross this? find it very odd and theres always 4 or 5 of them around the hutch which is doing my little lads head in cause he been stung a few times in the past and doesnt react very well to it.thing is ive got two hutches with a pair in each and the wasps only go to my lads ferrets. dave1600d 35
try fly papers mate.....the wasps may get stuck to that, apart from that try puttin a jam jar with small hole so they can get in , but not out,,half fill with water n jam mix,,n put it away from the hutch,,hey may go to the trap rather than the ferrets,,,just an idea,,hope it helps 1 Quote Link to post
happyferret123 13
Agree with the above, if you put out a wasp trap then hopefully that will reduce their numbers. Otherwise only feed meat at night. Otherwise could you put a very thin fabric over the mesh like people do to keep out the fly's? Quote Link to post

Malt 379
I've used something simalar to this before now, they're quite effective: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Wasp-Trap Not seen many wasps about here this year... Quote Link to post
lurche 48
we have them every year but cant find anything about them eating meat thought they may of been eating the hutch as its a very soft american wood but its defenatly the meat, cant really only give meat at night as they are raw fed and would starve all day.any netting would need to be water proof ,will try the trap and see how that goes a few days Quote Link to post
