I think the HW77 I have is quite noticeably heavier than my HW80 Elliott, just by handling them. Yet somehow the ' is always almost described as the heaviest thing on the planet!

HW80 is the the finest break-barrel of all. Gun porn in plain clothing!

 

Did you ever own and use one? I absolutely love them. I've had six over the last 25 years or more; but the .22 full-length HW80 I have now is the best of any I've ever known. I'll never trade her for anything!

The 90's really little more than a re-engineered to accept the gas ram system. Same sort of weight, size and feel. Same top notch trigger, only no twangs and vibes and no need to worry about leaving the thing cocked for too long. I love the 's, I really do, I've owned two and shot with many others and I'm really looking forward to setting up the action you gave me but the simple fact is that the 90's a better rifle. So ner-ner-na-ner-ner Not wishing to sound childish or anything

I hear Theoben's patent ran out hence the influx of 'nitro pistons' and copies. I wonder how long Weihrauch will honour their arrangement, if indeed they still are.

Theoben never actually made the rams, they were subbed out to a company called AWT who also make the rams for HW. Interesting point though, I hope they stay with a UK based company and not switch to the lowest bidder making second rate parts.....
