Millet 4,497
This is no way a dig just my opinion from experience..I fly a male Gos and it is like shit off a stick when he get's going he can nail the odd magpie but the rest of the corvid's would have to be mugged and from a short slip for him to be successful..i did fly a female harris year's ago and it was mustard on the bunnie's and moorhen's but anything else was out of her league and would sharp loose her. dogs-n-natives 1,182
Seen some good footage of people slipping them from the vehicle windows at crows n rooks feeding beside the roads, but all short slips the bird was straight on them Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
In theory.... never owned a hawk myself, but shot thousands of corvids.... they are suckers for decoys, why dont folk decoy them in, then slip bird from a hide? Its not hard to get them i close if your consealed from their view. just a passing thought! Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
I have thought about a hide in the past but i have never got around to trying it out.. Quote Link to post
paulus 26
driving around the lanes works well especially around here as you can get above the fields and with a bit of luck into the wind aswell. mind its far more spectacular with a peregrine or hybred the same with pigeons ambush them coming into roost just at the point they put the brakes on to land Quote Link to post
milo 74
Some very good point raised guys thanks never thought of setting up a hide and slip the hawk that way ... Quote Link to post
