jamie1985 6
I've got a bull wheaten grey.he is coming up 10 months now. I'm running him in the morning for two hours cycling and he gets an hour in evening. Plus all day at work on the farm. I'm feeding him on vitalin, pet mince, raw chicken carcass and marrow bones from the farm butchery. So he has a variety through the week. What do others feed there's? And what's other people's exercise routines to get them fit for the season? Do I need too do more? Would put a pic up but only got a smart phone no pc. Quote Link to post

Guest born to run1083
As blackstaff said it's abit early to hammer the fitness into it yet as he's at an important age regarding joints and so on, but if he was older i'd tell you only you can say how fit your mutts need to be as your the guy putting the game infront of them my needs will probly be different to your so to speak. 2 Quote Link to post
jamie1985 6
He ist really working yet had a few times out on the lamp. Just more of a jau.nt than working bit had a few runs and done me proud so far. Still can't upload pics tho. When he is at work wwith us it's more of a play time for him than training I guess he loves bounding over bales. Quote Link to post
stan2 4
Good comments above, but with any heavy breed need to watch they don`t get too much, what i call heavy exercise out with the bike etc, as the dogs growth plates may not have finished closing over you could do some damage for later on that cant be put right, mooching round the farm is one thing but too much sustained hard running is not so good. My 10mnth old bull/fell/grey is getting similar exercise to your minus the bike work, hes fit as f**k, but i would like to give him another 5-6mnths before hammering him! It is hard coz hes keen to do more, just my experience Quote Link to post
jamie1985 6
Okay I will cut down on the cycling. Just seems no matter how much he gets he is always keen for more! Quote Link to post
