This year has been a serious year for slugs and when sweeping out kennels I sweep the slugs down the drain with all other waste.

Then keep on top of your worming making sure you use a wormer that doses for lungworm, most don't.

I use Parazole.

Hope this helps as I speak from experience as I lost a lovely, fit pup to lungworm. It was the first time the vet had seen or heard of it. That was 5 years ago .

Never known a slug problem as big as this ever. I am finding them in my chicken runs for the first time and they are not damp. And some of the walls of the cottage are glimmering silver. The are coming inside the cottage in my cupboards and everywhere. What i have found to kill them brilliantly, although i'm not sure if it will act as a deterrent is Vircon.

In your kennels they will be after the dogs food dishes, remove the dishes after feeding

I've only known slugs to go in kennels if they're damp inside, it seems to attract them.

My kennel's as dry as a bone yet slugs still come in if i leave the door open for the dog, iam going to put a copper strip across the door threshold this afternoon as slugs wont cross copper iam told, i,ll let you know if it works, buster.

You'll see the trail of the slug the next morning telling you where he's been, and it doesn't have to be somewhere damp for them to be.

You can detere slugs all you want from the kennell and run but what do you do outside of there.

So like I say, keep on top of your worming using a wormer that does lungworm.

I'm amazed Drontal haven't started covering lungworm or as some folk have nicknamed it, slugworm.

Got em bad here also, my back yard is awash with the buggers last thing at night, im now convinced this is what caused my dog to become ill the other week, i pride myself in keeping dog areas clean, its the humid conditions we are having at the moment bringing the buggers out

There bad here to some how they get in my food tub in the shed witch is air tight ??? I have wasted a lot of kibble on this I now keep a ring of salt round my food tub and not had one since I hate the lil Blighters

I was told spiders and snails also carrie lungworms is that true ?

Ive been finding alot more of the dirty buggers also, especially in or around the dogs water bowl. Also found one my kitchen sink :bad:

As previously stated, i put salt around the places they seem to go. :victory:

They just sizzle away to nothing when they are doused in salt :D
