Tug 168
If it's the only one that does it, then it's either had less attention when handling or it might have something causing it pain when you lift it up Quote Link to post
jimster68 123
deffo agree with above ,ive only ever seen ferrets&kits hiss when their frightened or in fear , i got a kit of a lad on this site the other day and when i put it in with a few of my other ferrets it started hissing and jumping backward when they went near it . soon settled down and fitted in , just handle the kit every day and it should come good.........jim Quote Link to post
iWorkChihuahuas 52
all of my ' black ' ferret kits did that when i first bought them, they arched into the corners of the boxes and hissed, they ok now, i put a little bit of icecream in the middle of my hand and the kits loved it, but like the above says, anything to comfort, handle more etc all helps Quote Link to post
happyferret123 13
One of mine hisses when the younger one jumps on her head, or tries to steal her meat. Some Ferrets are more vocal than others. Might take longer than the other's to be comfortable being held. But as long as you handle it enough I'm sure it will get used to you, then trust you, then be fine in the end Just keep going. Quote Link to post
