pianoman 3,587
By the way Chris/thursodog. What about an HW85 or HW95 for your youngest boy? Both are small and light enough for a young lad to get to grips with and either will be still be a potent rifle as he grows in age and experience. All the very best to you mate. zini 1,939
5 to 55 yards will be fine for me Davy and it will be a breeze for Si! I think we can all squeeze a .22 pellet through 15mm. I will be shooting by pure judgement and instinct from a basic zero as my Hawke SR12 scope has bitten the dust..literally!..So it's my good and faithful old Simmons Whitetail Classic 4.5-14x40mm AO with 30-30 reticle unless I can find a replacement SR12. But, it's sighting brilliantly on my Weihrauch HW77 .22. So I'm not unduly worried exactly! But, whatever. The main thing is, I think it will be good to demonstrate and compare performances of accuracy between a quality PCP and a quality Spring rifle. And hopefully dispel a few myths about spring rifles in general. And that's a good thing to come out from the shoot. Looking forward to fine shooting from all! Simon Edit to add. Is it alright if I can actually go look and see where the bloody target in the tunnel is, this time around?!! Simon PM me your address buddy and Ill send you a Hawke Airmax with SR12 reticule to use and keep as i don't use it now i have the Panorama. You can keep it for good pal, as i know that you will make the best use of it . I've seen how well you shot your HW77 with your old one . Si. Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
There isn't one of these things made yet that would remotely faze me and my HW77 .22. Not even in Si Pttaway's hands. And he's a man I have utmost respect and admiration for. (That would be a hell of a vid to film Si!). Yeah that sounds a brilliant idea Simon you know I'm always up for a shoot to test myself against a better man. Its the competitive part in me . We could use this episode to show others who follow our channel how good a well shot springer can be if shot correctly by a marksman. Maybe Davy can come up with a very testing shoot / challenge for us to do at the meet in October and we can film it at the same time, will be awesome. Ill bring my HW100 S which will give the episode some credit to the viewers as everyone knows that these pcps are excellent. Si. hi Si & Simon yes chaz and i can come up with some challenging shots! 15mm kill zone from 5yds to 55yds ? with some obstructions down to 10mm,if we angle the tunnle right this time we all might hit the kill zone? Flipping ech partner that will do it, especially if there is the slightest breeze too . I likey. I'm going to have to get out then and start practicing with the HW100 S and HW97KT. I'm going to give the course a run with my springer too in conjunction with my range finder. Si. pianoman 3,587
Si you are giving me your Hawke Airmax scope? I'm just blown away!! That is just wonderful. I can't say "thank you" enough. Er..PM sent! Thank you seems an inadequate response Si but. Thank You sincerely from the bottom of my heart. I will treasure it and use it, as you know I will. Love and warmest regards to you and Laura both. Simon 1 Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
No problems Simon buddy. I will reply to your PM now pal. Laura is well thanks. I get to see her again on Fri. I miss her badly Si. 1 Quote Link to post

thursodog 353
Hi Simon. Yeah i'm looking at an 85 at the mo for the youngest, thinking a 77 for my oldest (and me), he's a well built 12 year old who does competition swimming. Incidently he's 13 next week and starting in the Air Cadets the following week. He wants a career in the RAF, not sure what as at the mo. Thanks and all the best. Chris. Quote Link to post
deano26 16
Cant go far wrong with a Weihrauch I have been really looking into a career in the RAF aswell coincidently. But still not 100% its the right thing to do. Good luck with the search mate. you never know, something may pop up on here that would be suitable. Regards Dean Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Oh no don't join the RAF mate be a real warrior and join the army . If you join the RAF you will learn how to rip people off at air gun darts though , hey Adam . Watch the slagging come my way now LOL. Si 2 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
I thought we made a decent semi-final out of that game, eh, Adam? Good to see service cap-badge rivalry is still alive and well then! You don't want to listen to the Artillery son. They shoot from miles away and they need everything they hear played LOUD! Join the RAF Regiment kiddo. You'll get a real comfy bed to sleep in, your Flt Sgt will serve you a nice cuppa in the morning and you eat with a real metal knife and fork in a comfy mess! And still get to jump out of a perfectly good, servicable aircraft and play like the Paras do! Bags of shooting opportunities in foreign parts. Hmm, mmm!!. Every day a new horizon; every meal a banquet; every paycheck a fortune. I loved livin' the life of the swingin' Rock Ape! HOO_WAHH!! 2 Quote Link to post
