I'm in a massive Dilema?

Recommended Posts

Books, just a thought, are you quite sure they dont mean you need a Test certificate for your bottle?? I ask because what the shops are saying isnt a legal requirment at all.. If you are a adult with a bottle in test then whats their problem? Please give me the diving shops phone number (By PM) and I will investigate your complaint directly.

If you class that as a massive dilema , then jesus christ you better hold on to your pants and wait to see what the rest of your life throws at ya !!!

Right this filling with a divers certificate thing, complete bollocks. Right sodding crap! How do I know? I use an IDEST accredited testing and filling shop, he knows I do not dive, he fills my air cy

I dont see why weight a problem as long as it balanced well you should be ok with most high end rifles hw 90 95 have you considered the sharp and nover it a pump up rifle 3 pumps for each round and i

Skot. Love springers and your right - probably only target shooters use a standing position because they got to do that. I would like something light with a silencer. HW 97 is a brill bit of kit, just too heavy for me. Same as an Air Arms TX200, great guns but not for lugging around all day though. I know plenty do but to me I'm not a fan because of the weight.

Secretagent, your not wrong but I come across this all the time in some form or other. It seems like they just made a policy not to fill unless a certificate is produced. Other than that I don't know and arguing is pointless because of the cost involved. What I mean there is if it cost say £50 to fill, then I'm sure they would be happy to. As it costs only a fiver or so, they are sticking by their policy. They just can't be bothered I suppose for a little money.

It does throw a spanner in the works right enough unless I took a chance with a pump. Then again I would have to join a gym to be able to use the thing ha

Try asking the nearest large and permanently manned firestation, they charge their own surface use cylinders and will usually charge cylinders for a donation!

Edited to add Trons sugegstion sounds right, unless of course it is a new bottle in which case no certificate is needed!

Lightweight springers then lads lets get some suggestions.

Bsa lightning / xl + supersport

weihrauch hw95 k. its a bit heavier but not much and its a lot better quality

weihrauch hw 99 s very nice little rifle.

Dont know any others lol.. of decent quality.. You dont want any SMK crap lol ( come on milegajo :p )

With pleasure Skot.

Smk Th208! Oh no wait a minute.

Despite it being one of SMKs best offerings, you aren't on a shoestring therefore my advice would have to be;

Hands down, the HW95k.

Nothing better that fulfills all your criteria that I can think of. A tune would be beneficial on a Weihrauch so do factor that in. A must for lower priced guns. Even a DIY kit would be good but I read excellent reports about Sandwell Field Sports and Tony Wall.

Hi Pianoman. Tried sending you a pm but its blocked.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I have turned mysel off pcp's....its been a hassle right enough over this divers bottle scenario. I didn't get it mixed up chaps, I was clearly told that the policy is not to fill any bottle for anyone that does not have a divers certificate regardless if it for diving or not.

The local gun shop to me told me as such last week, yet I didn't listen because I thought he was very wrong. I still think there is places out there, but to be honest it has wound me up.

Looking into a HW95 now which gets a good thumbs up from everyone.

HW's are two stage triggers..very nice for the price when theyre set up, even better if you know a man who can fettle one.

s200 is a 1 stage..nice for a 1 stage.

Both places will test bottles as well, I personally use Kent Scuba, it's further away but they aren't taking the mick with prices.

As for bottles have a look at this, it's a blooming bargain, I got one last week as my old one had to go for test...

Hi,Books

I have both a springer and a pcp, I bought the PCP with the idea of using its as a hunting gun as it was lighter and smaller ect so much better to use in the field.

And in all honestly........80%t of the time it stays at home, I walk past it and pick up the heavy old hw77k.

yes its not the lightest thing in the world but as a hunting rifle the PCP cant match it, so much more satisfaction when you make that clean shot, because you know it was you that made it, not the rifle. I love mine

seems a HW break barrel would suit your needs perfectly. :hmm:

Nice avatar picture by the way

Regards
