First Kill with N550.

My Neighbour asked Me to see what was raiding His Bird feeders at Night, So i thought Superb can test the N550 out.

Feeder is only 16 yards away so got it all set up, Positive it was gonna be a Rat

About 22:00 hrs ish i saw an outline slinking towards the Feeder, Thought Superb My first Rat with the N550.

I was convinced it was a Rat but got a Shock as i turned on the N550 and the 940 nm ir It was a Bloody Squirrel ?

So i lined up the Dot on the bottom of His ear and let fly with the 7.9 gr .177 Li pellet, Down and only one swish of his tail.

Didn't think they fed at Dusk thought they would all be curled up in their Drey's at night, Never seen a Tree rat out at dusk before,

So was wondering does this happen a lot with Tree Rats feeding at Dusk?.

On a Plus point Just ordered a 8 gb DVR recorder from evil bay for £53 so i will be able to record with the NV soon.

Love the set up but the Tree Rat didn't , Yep Craig hopefully be able to capture the shooting on the N550

as soon as the DVR arrives.

I was sat roost shooting crows in autumn a few years ago and there wer no leaves on the trees and it got properly dark and all i could see was silhouettes of crows and pigeons. i was putting the gun away and getting ready to go home and on a bare tree against the skyline there was a squirrel running around. i only thought they came out through the day aswel but obviously not!

Cheers Lads for the replies ,

 

Just been to the shooting club and zeroed the N550 and Prosport properly .

N550 and Prosport zeroed out to 55 yrds no wind, Prosort .22 zeroed at 30 yards.

Rapid N550 combo in .177 cal zeroed at 25 yards Level Trajectory from 25 - 45 yards

50 yrds half mil, 55 yrds full mil dot. . All on the standard 4.5 x mag of the N550

without Doubler lens fitted.

You've got some cracking Spring guns as well bud keep hold of them wish i kept all of Mine

Only got 3 guns now, The Rapid MK 2 .177 pcp, The Prosport .22 Springer and the Benelli M2 Thunder stick semi auto.
