Recommended Posts

Hi

Had a look at all the other Nv then decided to have the n550 . The best NV out of all of them and my mate has one as well ,would not be with out them .

if you have deep pockets then there is far better out there

I got both, N550 and Archer. The N550 sits in the spare bedroom and occasionally comes out as a spotting scope. The Archer, with the firefly laser, is the dogs bollocks. Use it on AA S410, CZ452 in22lr and 17hmr. Don't need to mess around with re zeroing, just slip it on the end of the scope and away you go. Iknow they say you can use the N550 in the day, but in reality it's a frustrating picture to look at. I hadn't had the Pulsar long before i felt that it wasn't what i really thought it was going to be. I had convinced myself it was going to be this brilliant bit of kit that would make sooting in the dark a joy....and it didn't. Where as the Archer is completely the opposite. One more minus to the Pulsar is batteries, it eats the things, i get about 3/4's of an hour out of a fully charged set of batteries, that's 4 AA rechargables. The Archer gives you 60 hours(ish) from a CR123. I paid £1600 for the Arch/firefly set up which is good because it gets used, where £1000 for an N550, which only gets used for spotting now and then, is bad. Habe to say for the money the Nite Site looks good. Have you been on the night vision forum and seen the 'Home made NV set up'?, worth a look.
