slingshot hunting

Hi, would like to know if any one does any hunting with a slingshot. I have been using mine for about two months and only had a one pigeon. If anyone does with size ammo would you go for as i am shooting 9mm 3/8 steel ball bearing. ????

9mm bearing are good enough for pigeons and rabbits. just make sure it will go through both sides of a steel food tin at your max range. (less power is needed for head shots). the gafer on here has good success with marbles so it depends what your more accurate with.

what bands you using for 9mm steel?

i would use single thera -band gold each side for 9mm steel. if you use double each side youle get nasty hand slap and less power.

its the tube one i have gone for this time. I did have the gold band but it did snap on me a number of times ??? was it down to me i had it off ebay 8pound for a meater ???

what taper did you cut the tbg flat bands? you should get anthing between 150-500 shots it just depends on the taper.

 

 

tubes are best for heavy ammo (lead) .

chinese tubes are really good 6mm thick any you can get upto 900 shots with 1 band set.

 

£8 a metre aint bad for tbg !

i did have the flat bands but gone for tubes this time, like i said i am new to using sling shot for hunting, where would be the best place to get the ammo from if you don't mind me asking. tapered i guess that how i put the tubes on to the slingshot, the tubes at come yet but what would be the best way to put tubes on ???

you can tie the tubes straight to the fork or gypsy tabs. both work well.

hi i have made a homemade slingshot how would i attach the tube when it come as i know how to attach bands but not tubes ??

i use exercise flatbands from argos. but iv used tubes ,1745 tubes and tbg in the past.
