Stupid myths and tales

Recommended Posts

In the last week my misses was told by a bloke with a whippet pup that lurchers only have rough coats and if it's got a short coat it's a greyhound, and I was asked by a women with a old lurcher I bumped into if my bitch was a pure bred lurcher ? I replied as pure as a dog made up of 3 different breeds can be.....She looked at me like I was a retard!! I'm pretty sure I'm not lol

Had anyone else heard any equally stupid myths or stories about lurchers ?

the best we hear all the time on the hunting life is a English bred dog will be no good in Ireland hahahahaha

That's a good one, I've had that ' do you feed them'

That one I'm sick of , it's always someone with a super overweight dog asking

When folks say that to me now I usually just deadpan answer 'not every day' just to see their faces

I know it isn't a lurcher, but the best one for me is: "Is it a Labrador puppy?" This question is asked by people who see Beetle, my black Patt, who is usually scowling at the strangers at the time.

Looking a bit like this:

"No, it's a terrier" I reply, and even then they say "Oh really, she looks just like a puppy!"

I generally walk away at this point because I'm severely tempted to tell them that the look she's giving them is the same kind of look that she has as she enters an earth
