Stupid myths and tales

In the last week my misses was told by a bloke with a whippet pup that lurchers only have rough coats and if it's got a short coat it's a greyhound, and I was asked by a women with a old lurcher I bumped into if my bitch was a pure bred lurcher ? I replied as pure as a dog made up of 3 different breeds can be.....She looked at me like I was a retard!! I'm pretty sure I'm not lol

 

Had anyone else heard any equally stupid myths or stories about lurchers ?

Nah heres a few questions ive been asked about my dogs -

 

1. Is he a MoChara a full greyhound? - First thing that gives it away is both his eyes are half blue

2. Is Jerry-Lee a full "wolfhound" ? - what a stupid bloody question!

3. Is he a full deerhound? - NO

 

Now this is the funniest one ive heard to date.........

i was asked at a game fair by tweed wearing folk walking the big show type deerhounds about like highland lairds if my 25in 50 odd pound rough coated lurcher was a whippet x beardie................i treated them with the contempt they deserved gave them 'the' look and walked away in silence

When some one asks me what mine are I normally say rabbit catchers not many ask any more questions lol

Some old dear saw my ridgeback killing a squirrel up the park. She was quite interested in her "hunting prowess" and asked me what she was crossed with. I said she was 100% ridgeback and this lady said "Oh I didn't know they hunted small stuff. I thought they only hunted lions."

Next time I see a lion up the park, I'll keep you updated.
