Malt 379
he had 1 good season, euros show he is inconsistent under pressure. injured a lot. 20 mill is good for arsenal but they wont re invest it. i wouldnt be pleased if i was a man u fan, agree with that,,,, at 29 and 20million, thats a bad signing..... lets not talk about carrol.... quite the opposite,,,,,lets talk about carroll,,,,, got his whole career infront of him (around 12 years) and cost 35 million, RVP has probably 4 seasons left after an average career and cost 24 million....... If he bangs in 20+ goals and we win the title back it will be money well spent.. Also, I read last night that no premiership player has provided more assists from 2008 than Van Persie, and that's in a team without as many good finishers as Utd have.. Say what you want mate, 22.5 million + add on bonuses if we win trophies isn't a bad price for a top striker in his prime. Torres is a simalar age, is he not, and look how much Chelsea paid for him.. gnasher16 30,046
RVP has probably 4 seasons left after an average career and cost 24 million....... An average career ......Will have played for 2 of the greatest clubs in world football.....been a leading scorer of the premiership, premiership players player of the year, one of Arsenals all time leading scorers.....a WORLD CUP runners up medal........................................................i like the kid Carrol.....but if he achieves half of what Van Persie has achieved in his " average career " i,ll be very surprised. gnasher16 30,046
I thought you meant " average career " as an individual considering you was comparing him to Andy Carrol.

hillbilly boy 109
I think it's a good deal for arsenal the lad has had 1 great season and has spent way to much time on the treatment bench. Will be interesting to see how or IF wenger invests the money back in the team
craigyboy 1,274
i think its a top signing and it definately puts a clear message out to the bitter blues that there are still players out there who prefer history, tradition and heritage over cash it shows that utd can still compete with citys vast wealth, they can attract players away from City because of everything the club and the manager stands for. as for his age,i think the best is yet to come from rvp, remember teddy beating city to the signing of a quality player like rvp sends out a message, that we intend to get our title back this year after all,for all citys money they only scored more goals than utd last season and we played nowhere near our best but fergies defo up for it and so am i Bitter Blues ???? i think not Craig , they have lived in your shadow for yrs suffered numerous relegations But now in the space off a couple off seasons there your rivals so i wouldnt say that would create bitterness , you think he has signed for history , tradition and heritage .... WHAT like Rooney did when he signed his new contract last yr after holdin the club too ransom to match what city could pay him , RVP will be getting Millions for this deal which Arsenal wouldnt/couldnt match and whichever way you paint it thats the top and bottom off it MONEY ! with all due respect mate, your a gooner from the iom so im thinking you dont regularly mix wi city fans, believe me theyre bitter kunts always have been and always will be towards the better half of mcr and rvp could of walked that well trodden path between the emirates and the shitiad stadium but he chose not too, your not telling me he chose utd over shitty purely for the money i think not

Is that what you really think.....or is that what you want to think....................my guess is like Fabregas,Nasri,Cliche and now Van Persie............they are top players who want to win things...................and realise Arsenal lack the ambition to win trophies...............top players are not content to be the 4th best club in England every year............like it or not Arsenal have put themself on the rung below the top clubs of the premiership ladder. That is what i Genuinely Believe Bar Fabragas ....Nasri TREBLED his Money As Did Cliche (who i wouldnt class as a Top Player) and RVP will no Doudt be The Same , You can Dream All you Want About History Tradition Heritage and Medals its All About MONEY As Rooney Proved Threatenin to Leave for City if he wasnt Rewarded with MORE MONEY , John Terry Staunch Chelsea Man used Man City To Doube his wages Steven Gerrard done the same with Liverpool / Chelsea , Throughout the Premiership its happening , the Lad At Sunderland Gyan went from the the Best League in the word to Saudi Arabia (I Think it was) yes he will win medals but is that why he went I Think Not , if what yous are saying about Tradition ect ect ect How come when Jack Walker started splashing the cash , Man.u. Arsenal Liverpool where beaten to the Big Signatures by Blackburn bar Roy Keane ? Same when Abramovic took over at Chelsea World Class Players where signing then sittin on the Bench collecting money they Didnt Give a second thought about medas initially although they do come out and Spout the Usual Drival "Ive Always Dreamed Of Playing for This club zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" , What i will say and who i will Admire for his honesty is Makelele when leaving Real Madrid to sign for Chelsea said "I didnt want to leave but when i heard about the money i was offered i couldnt turn them down" That says it all to me ,
