hotshot2me 31
When i am going wild fowling I'll take some 28grm 5s and some 32grm 5s, reason for this is if the ducks are coming in low I'll use the 28grm if coming high then i use the 32grm. but a lot depends on the wind, the stronger the wind the birds tend to come in low to the pond, when wind is light they will come in high, especially on a light night, but easily visible but so are you, so you need to be concealed until last minute: Dave Quote Link to post
tegater 789
4's or 5's in both 12, 20 or 28 bore. Normal game loads. Quote Link to post
remi700 99
Lead still legal in the south? I think it is. Depends where your shooting, open water divers and mallard 36g 5s or 6s. For flight shooting id go lighter 30 or 32g 6s or something like that will do the trick. Having said that I've shoot more flight ducks then I care to remember with Winchester trap 100s 28g 7 1/2s through a full choke. That was back in the good old days when we could still shoot lead up here. Atb Mark Quote Link to post
The one 8,476
Normally 6 s with a couple of heavy's in the belt Quote Link to post
Wino 3
I'm in England and going to use Gamebore Super Steel 32gm 4s on duck and something like no.1 steel on Geese. Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
If you are using lead, then a good No.5 is a starting point. Steel or other non-toxic shot I normally go one size bigger Quote Link to post

Same system as Scotland. We can still shoot it over green feilds. Edited August 16, 2012 by remi700 Quote Link to post

Jono Hicks 0
Are you able to shoot lead here in the UK? Back home lead is banned unless shooting more than 200m away from a water source. Therefore - I shoot 3" #2's with good success. Pack a punch when shooting all day. Quote Link to post
