im no expert on guns , in dont even like them much but need them for my jobs, rimfire .. go for the 17.. it does what the 22 does and a hell of a lot more.. as i said its from experiance only..

can you get subsonic rounds can you get 100 rounds for £6 can you get 40grn rounds apart from that and a few other differences there identical

can you get balistic tips can you shoot accuratly over good distances with out hold over can you avoid ricochets and before eveyone says ye but you may aswell get a .223 or .222 ...... all i will say is youve got more money than me if you can afford for have 40 or 50 shots in a night with either of those calibres

Personally I use the .22 rimfire more than any other rifle. If I could have one it would be the .22 rimmy. Tried the HMR's there ok, but I'm personally not stuck on them, so opted for a .22 hornet and its a lot better for me.
