3 wks after this he was up and running..no vet required you just have to try and keep it clean.

the local guy loves my mother in law, everytime her dog coughs it's a jag, every bee sting it's antihistamine, she's there every week...........she stays in a council house and he parks his range rove

Most vets should have a fin on there backs, robbing bsatards!!!   That cut would of healed just as well if not better kept clean.

She's not showing any interest in the stitches as yet bezza but i'll keep my eye on her, they're not accessable anyway with the dressing on but as i say i'll watch her

No the vet said it should be fine once it's healed, no nerve damage or anything so it's just a case of healing time now

It's just a cut pad, mate. You did the right thing, taking it to the vet's, if you wern't sure what to do. You could have saved a bit of money by simply keeping it clean by cleaning it twice daily with some warm Dettoll but there's nowt wrong with letting the vet see it. Should be healed in a couple of weeks. Good luck with the dog

Cheers.

A bad vet sure would make thing's up to gain more money..when i was younger and more nieve i once took a terrier to the vet's that used to scratch the floor through nettle sting's after a walk..i did not know that it was the nettles at the time..but he still jabbed the dog twice over a fortnight and charged me each time.

I've used Dettol, or the "own brand" stuff, on myself and my dogs all my life !! With no apparent side affects. Dettol tells you on the label that it's for cleaning wounds, so, in these days of rampant littagation, I'm sure it's fine !

Cheers.
