algae in water bottles ....great tip

At this time of year when water bottles start to collect algae in the neck of the bottles because of the heat and long hours of sun and your bottlebrush is not getting right in the neck.......top tip empty water out put in 20 odd grains of rice and a egg cup full of water ....shake like mad for a minute....hey presto clean bottle....thought i would share that one.....happy hunting.

Just bend the end of your bottle brush 90 degrees so it's an 'L' shape. Make the bent bit the same length as from neck to edge of the bottle, that way you can do inside the top, and the flat of the bottom piece of cake. The inside of the bend is great for cleaning the neck thread too.

use a dark coloured bottle, that'll filter out the sun and stop the algae forming in the first place. Try putting insulation tape covering a whole plastic bottle just to see if it works.It does.

Or the chain from a old sink plug does the same job

How the hell do you manage to put your gnashers in the water bottle, one tooth at a time..? :blink::tongue2:

or better still use drinker for chickens they can av a good lap at the water in hot wether no problem cleaning them

Sounds good never thought of that , when I put a bowl In theres always one that's done the lot before the others get there ,

i do similar with warm water and some small fishtank gravel and i use a cotton bud on the spout end. atb sp
