hi i have a TX and have never needed a silencer, once you THWACK ! your quarry the rest are going to scarper.because its the sound of impact not your spring rifle. the plastic plenum in side your TX

So you went to buy a silencer and got a new gun..? Wish i could do that !!!

yeah!! he also drinks like a fish, but wakes like a young salmon :censored:

Thank you for saying so Deri.

I've learned a thing or two from shooting spring rifles solidly for 40-odd years. And I've learned even more from the lads on this forum. It's a highly enjoyable interchange of knowledge from a vast pool of skills, freely and cheerfully shared. It's a great group of fellows this, to talk to, shoot alongside and learn from.

I love the spring air rifle. Everything there is in precision rifle shooting as an art, is right in there, within its own easy-to-grasp microcosm of calibres, balistics, recoil energy management , ammo and optics.

So, you have my ear to bend whenever you think I can help you. And mayhap exchange with you along the way.

Regards and thanks Deri.

Simon

Aw Davy, I'm so sorry dear friend. Work has intervened this time. I've put a post on the Meet Thread.

I'm sorry fella, I really wanted to meet up with you and Chaz, Wurz and and Si as dear friends and talk round the fire with everyone over good beer. That's where I want to be.

Regards my bonnie lad.

Simon

Edt to add. I knew this was probably going to happen but, I was hoping the dates in October would not clash.

will a silencer make a major difference to a spring gun in this case the tx200 as thinking of getting a hw one and adaptor tomorrow not cheap however would it be worth the investment cheers.

heres a quick vid of my 95 without then with silencer on. at 3 yards away where my phone was you cant really tell the difference. maybe at 30-40 yards but i didnt try that lol

Well iv just sat here listening to the shots in this video skipping to them. the pellet hits the 35 yard metal target so fast that it almost makes one noise. however after carefull analysis (lmao) you can hear that on the second shot the muzzle blast is actually significantly quieter. at least it sounds to be when i listen to it again and again on my phone.

Im still saying it wont make a world of difference, but i suppose you could take onboard tescos way of thinking

'Every little helps' pmsl haha !!! ;)
