Thats a shame, any reason why they have plummeted? I suppose they are a pest, so most want rid?

I remember as a teenager, walking from brafield to horton, ferreting here and their and seeing the odd one dead on that road from being hit by a car..

I honestly think its the shooters or what ever I remember talking to a shooter hows come to age. He shot 37 over the farm and neighbouring farms plenty of spinnys and rides ect..... and his old mans well know so permission to himIis as hard as getting a pint in a pub

Pity the ban is in over their, as i seen a few taken with dogs when i was their, good craic and meat.

Whats the hare population like nowadays over their T7? Use to be a good few their when i was in it.

That is a shame the way its gone, as a lad living their then, we went most places hastle free, got chased off land ect, but nothing as bad it is now by the sound of it. The local bobby use to live in hackleton and he was sound, you could talk to him and he would listen, i remember out coursing with a lad from hackleton one early morning, i was stood in a field watching a course, when the farm collie came up to me from behind, followed by the bobby and farmer, i said i was just out for a walk with a mate and his dog and a hare got up, he said we were trespassing and could get prosecuted....the hare was caught and we got tolled to get out and not come back.....after the lad gave the hare to the bobby, as he said he loved hare stew...

thats true, but some of the estates are heavily stocked, and you might be surprised how many come onto the surrounding farms at night to feed there have been few roe locally for many years, but i know of a couple of spots where they appeared in last years cold winter, and have stayed on. as has been said, chinese are everywhere and letting the dogs have a mooch is very problematic in certain areas........
