mattydski 560
Anstruther on the East coast of Fife.............award winning chippie.........cant go wrong. Downside if its a nice day you'll be out the door in a queue for up to 45 mins anyway.. you could be right Lab , dont know if its because they prob fresher by the old sea side , but they do seem to taste better at these places lol Its a lovely wee place mate....could well be the quickness of the fish from sea to shop. Either that they have a secret and not letting on. The batter is nice and crispy, never soggy and the chips are chunky and fresh, always. They have photos of Prince Charles stopping of there for a fish supper when William was at University at St Andrews...also Tom Hanks as well has been in...........wonder if they had to wait 45 mins...?.. Anstruther are decent fash and chaps, but have to say................ stayed in a pub in Yorkshire the other night near Masham, and they were simply stunning.... Doohan 46
The "Hippy Chippy" in Paisley used to be well worth the visit don't know about now. Best chippy I ever ate, down on the sea front at Southend On Sea, Cod, Haddock or Rock Eel. It didn't matter they were all great!!!
Wullz 408
The chipper in Portree on the harbour side is braw, but only when the botas just come in, they throw the fish boxes across the road right into the door of the chippy and yer man has them filleted, battered and in the fryer before you can blink....it brilliant! Last time I was up I had a monkfish supper......oh man it was guid.... There is a good one in Doune too, up a wee side street near the old ferry terminal....
