PUPS FIGHTING OVER FOOD

ive currently got 2 pups together, a 6 month old staff bitch and a nearlly 3 month old lurcher pup/dog, they have dry meal down 24/7 and just pick as and when but if i go to feed raw the lurcher pup is grabbing the staff by the neck and growling and barking at her so she cant get to me for the meat....resulting in her cowaring away.....now i no pups play fight etc but this isnt play fighting the dog is a little twat

Feed them seperate then.... No fighting

Put into two different dishes prior to letting them in or feed them seperate

Put the lurcher in the other room when you going to feed them take the food to the lurcher and feed him there.

One very simple solution feed separate and being honest I'd try to get pup used to set meals, will make sure when older if you lift there food you know how much they've had before so when starving before hunting you know they won't fall short. Just an idea

Feed separate and don't free feed , feed them at a set time if possiable so they are not always competing over food

its before i even feed them lads its as im walking out the door aswell with say a chicken or mince in them white asda packs he starts

Go out with no food in hand take one pup out and teather it up then bring the food out and feed the dogs seperate then when they are done remove bowls , wait 5 mins then put dogs back intogether

Whats he like with you around food...? Can you pick his meat up when he's eating ect?

yes ya can take it out of his mouth and he wont snatch or anything just sits and waits for it back....just funny with the bitch

what ever ya do bud do it soon, otherwise your going to be left 2 two grown dogs with huge issues over food, emotion in equals emotion out with food becoming the trigger for outbursts,

this happened with me but it was with my mums cat when ever my mum fed the cat the dog started snarling at the cat and take the food so all i did was instead of separating them i put the dog on a lead and then when she started snarling and growling just drill it into her all the time NO! then after the cat had finish id feed the pup, and it took a while but now i can feed cat and dog at same time and pup wont flicker an eyelid at the cats food. atb
