Nice gun bud, if you give it some TLC im sure it will do you very well.

 

Some varnish remover, wire wool and elbow grease will get it all off, then you just need to sand re apply the stain and seal.

 

There are a few threads on stock restoring on here and the videos on youtube should help, take your time as the results will be much better

 

Good luck with the refurb and keep us upto date with the progress

Thanks ,been out tonight to zero it in , then went for a walk on one of my permissions . three shots three kills . Went with a friend who has a range finder .. I need a range finder , i thought i was a good judge of distance but this made all the difference.

Any recommendations on range finder's .

Mate , dont worrry too much about the stock . Its a beech stock and they ( AA ) use a lot of varnish . If you really wanna do it , just strip and varnish . JSRamsbottom do a good LFR and to be fair i ordered some pellets on saturday ( cheaper than anywhere else i could find ) and they arrived today . Have a mooch about and see . If you shoot static ( from a prone / sitting position ) it may help if you go in the day and stick out markers at 10 20 30 40 yrds and judge from those ............
