iWorkChihuahuas 52
hi all me saluki x was on the lamp lastnite, was running a rabbit and he pulled up towards a hedge, not like him, when he came back to me, slowly but surely, he was bleeding, flicked lamp on him and he had been slashed straight accross the bottom of his ribcage, the skin was flopping over, cut maby 3/4", i tried sewing it, but he was having none of it, so ive cleansed it, used betnodite ( mind my spelling ) like an orange antiseptic ( antibiotic ) aerosoll over it, and ive tacked it together with steri strips, after couple hours looks really clean, and looks like its started scabbing and dried up nicely, was just wondering, how long will he be lame for? and how long till i can run him again? thanks Quote Link to post

martin 332
He obviously had a clump on the chest so he shouldn't be lame too long, and as for the 'Slash' 3/4" isn't really in the slashed mate that's a scratch, this is a slash........... Just keep an eye on the wound to make sure you have sealed any germs inside mate.....the joys of running dogs eh? 1 Quote Link to post

bedwhippet 164
he did it in december 2010 at 9 month old jumping barbed wire fence, if i had done it myself he would of had problems due to where the cut was, the vet had to make the four slits t the side to stop the tension in the muscle making the leg to tight to run on when healed, aslog as i kept the scar moist it was going to be easy for him to tare it open when running, hasnt stopped him so far (touch wood) took 3 -4 months to come good Quote Link to post
