PlasticJock 539
My 92 year old grandfather who was captured twice by the Nazis has a choice of putting the hot water on to wash once a week, or to feed himself.

RubyTex 1,957
Sad way to go but if your minds made up then let them get on with it. My grandad was in the RAF in WW2 and luckily came back alive, and my grandma got fired at from a pilot of the luftwaffe as she ran down the street during an air raid...they've got feck all now, it's either heating an hour a day or hot water for baths... christian71 3,187
He must have been committed if he drove there. 81? That's a good innings And tbh at that age he deserves the right to decide his own fate. I often wonder what our oaps think when they look at the world the day. Some fecker has still got to clean up the after aftermath. What a waste........ Someone who was looking for a second hand scooter counld of made use of that Would that have make them a scoothunter? scothunter 12,609
That's my worse nightmare having to rely on someone else for toilet needs. Rather be dead! Lived all my life with a bit dignity, be nice to go out with it aswell. Care homes all over the uk staffed by folk who barely speak English, and let's be honest the places they hail from are not all that big on compassion. However those homes would rather put profit before our elderly. Not saying there aren't staff put there who respect there patients, but they are few and far.

the_stig 6,614
my mum died of cancer last year watching and nursing her through 6 months of hell will haunt me forever -- if she`d of had the choice she would of said her goodbyes and been gone in a few weeks time to change the law i would`nt let one of my dogs suffer the way she did ..a few year back a local retired keeper had an illness that ment he would be a burden on his family he rang round said his goodbyes told his son where to find him took himself into the woods and shot himself he made a choice that no one had the right to take away ..
