tsteve9999 456
It sounds as though it's just a young dog and excitement is taking over, I wouldn't be too concerned As long as the dog returns just crouch down and give lots of fuss while you hold the rabbit, eventually the dog will lose interest and drop it. Just don't get involved in chasing it around the field or a tugging session. It will soon learn that the sooner it lets go the sooner it will have another one to catch. 2 Quote Link to post
MoChara 1,632
MoChara used to do this... I gently squeezed under his jaw, he let go within seconds, after a night or two doing that he stopped and he hasn't done it since. 1 Quote Link to post
dytkos 17,800
Try retrieval training with a ball or skin etc and enourage the dog to " GIVE" or "LEAVE" when you want it to let go. Cheers, D. 1 Quote Link to post
