No you have to make arrangements for the pup to be transported in the hold in a certain type of crate, not many airlines will carry dogs and I dont know what other requirements there are as a friend of my mothers used to bring her dogs to ireland on the plane, the hold has to be heated especially for the dogs and I believe but im not 100% on this that they also have to ventilate (not sure if thats the right word for it) the hold, it used to be about 250 to transport the dogs from uk to ireland with the airline "bmi baby"

There are restrictions on dogs flying; the 'plane has to have a pressurized hold, not all do. Also. live amimals can't be transported in the same hold as human remains. Some airlines WILL let a small dog, in an airline approved crate, travel in the main cabin, but you will probably have to pay for a seat ! So, there are government rules and airline rules, so the only thing you can do is check with the airline. I've flown dogs from the Middle East to the UK, and Australia, and also flown dogs from Oz to the UK, and the rules change with the destination and the airline !

Cheers.
