It's all fair and well stating what you want in an allrounder but how many on hear are actually capable in training a dog to the standard, by reading some of the posts put up there definently isn't many imo,

i for one am incapable of training a dog to a very high standard just the basics will do me thats all i require ill hold my hands up ive never owned one an probably never will with law and my luck i just dont have the vast experience that some lay claim on the hunting life but saying that your reply would lay indication you do an you must be one of the lucky ones to own a true allrounder or you could be some one who chats shit with the rest of the big im a lurcher man an my dogs better than your brigade :hmm: :hmm:

My opinion of an all rounder is a dog that you can take with you no matter what you are going hunting for hare, fox, rabbit etc.

Some good answers an allround dog that' does everything you hunted (preban) day or night but it all depends on what kind of work you do,myself I require a dog to be a good ferreting tool good with nets a good retriever with fur and now and again feather and a dog that could take good bags of rabbits on the lamp and other eadable game preban then another mans view of an allrounder could be per ban again lol daytime hare dog and a Allround deer dog taking most species I don't think there is such a dog that could do all types of hunting well !

ive got dogs that will turn there tails to most thing and have however if you take up one perticular part of lurcher work and get serious about it then only a specialist bred dog will do the job properly.

an all rounder to me is something that will keep your freezer full no matter weather its night or day or what the weather or ground type is and will take a fox if needed .....

my white dog is not no world beater but he will do what i want him to do as johnnyboy said "a jack of all trades master of none"
