BORDERSCOT 3,816
I've a lakie x patt bitch here who can break out in wee bald spots if she's stressed. If she has a heavy workload she can have one or two bald spots on her flank or chest. Goes away though - but then flares up again. I bathe her in Malaseb which helps. Quote Link to post

Dirtworm 18
If it's mites, ivomec under the skin. Had this problem with an inbred patt. Otherwise, could be food allergy. Hope this helps. D Quote Link to post
3175darren 1,100
My teckel terrier does the same, spent my money to find out it is hormonal linked to the dogs seasons,it doesnt bother her, grows back well, then once a yr starts to show again, probably get her doctored this yr anyway so will find out for sure, Quote Link to post
U.L.D.A 289
Terrier type breeds release hormones that make them go bald before or after there brake its happened with a couple of mine hair grows bacck okay Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
If I put up a photo of one of my lurcher bitches after she's been in season people would say she had mange! She moults in tufts and odd spots all over and looks practically bald in places: this lasts from about 7 weeks out of season for at least 2 months: she looks awful, but once her new coat has all come through she's as good as new. Obviously a hormonal issue, though she has a very fine coat as well and does suffer from mosquito bites and dust mite allergy too. Has your bitch recently been in season? Quote Link to post
