david2363 42
Went to see my old Grandma today in the hospital. She's 92 and ready to die any day so I thought I would have one last chat with the old girl. She's been around so long, it stands to reason that she should be a fountain of knowledge and wisdom. As she lay on the hospital bed surrounded by machines, tubes and life saving equipment, I started to speak to her for the last time. Grandma, I said, Yes son, she said. Can I ask you a very important question? Grandma, can you tell me, with all your experience in life - can you tell me ... WHAT IS LOVE? Her eyes immedietly twinkled into life once more. "What is it?" she said . "I will attempt to answer your question son." "I think that it is something that we should all experience at least once in our lifetime. I think that its something, that needs to be worked on, If you can break through its tough exterior, you will find something beautiful inside. Inside is sweet, satisfying and can be very refreshing. Its a wonderful thing son. Honestly, I had tears in my eyes at this point. Grandma, I said, I want to thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with me. And most of all , I will never ever forget how you just described LOVE to me. She looked at me with sad eyes, took a deep breath and said, Love, LOVE - What the f**k are you on about son ...... I THOUGHT YOU SAID MELON.
