jayhawk 41
Anyone using flocked pigeon decoys, the type with the spinning wings, I'm thinking about getting a pair for my magnet, as it breaks my heart to use real, previously shot birds as they are to yummy Whats your opinions on them please Cheers Jason Quote Link to post
decking 1
To be honest i bought a pair of these wings and they make far too much noise when spinning around inside the plastic decoys and scare the birds away. there ok if you have nothing else to use on the rotary, but as soon has you have shot some birds change them for the real thing. 1 Quote Link to post
Jack.308 40
I find that they only work this time of year because only young peigons come into them, and is some what repels older more experinced birds the odd one will drop in but i found only young mainly other turn at the last minute may just be my set up but that is what i have found, atb. mjr88 50
Hi jayhawk. I can't comment on the spinning winged decoys that you are enquiring about, but i can recommened a pair of Hypa flaps from the uk shootwarehouse. I bought a pair about a year ago, and i think that they are probably one of the best buys i have ever made. The wings of the Hypa flaps are extremely strong and effective at mimmicking a pigeons wing movements. And if there are any woodies in the area, they will come over to investigate. The Hypa flaps come with simple fitting instructions which made it simple for even a clumsy sod like me to put together. It's just a case of unrapping the wings from the body and inserting a thin rod thorough the wings and into the allocated pockets. It's as simple as that. And once you get used to adjusting the Hypa flaps at the desired angle on the rotor, you will see just how effective they really are. Also, because the decoys are so light, i find that i get more time from the rotors battery, compared with the much heavier shot birds. In fact, i dont think i've used shot birds at all since buying the Hypa flaps. Good luck in what ever you decide to buy, and let us know how you get on with them, Regards, John http://www.ukshootwa...ebb62f5aaf49f60 Edited August 3, 2012 by mjr88 Quote Link to post

All single / oupled birds coming in from far away. Set up was a rotor and two small floks of 5 so, the hypa did their job. A friend of mine passin by, stopped as he couldn't believe how real they looked especially from distance (and neither did I when I saw them) Just bought two for this season but never had a chance to go out with them, will have to wait for the stubbles!!
