May be able to get u some mesh from a basketball court were dismantling at work the pannels are about 6x4 inch square rigid mesh but are green dont think they are galv if your intrested?

I'd take him up on them and knock up timber frames around them. Have you seen Tom Garners yard since the no chaining law came into force where he lives ? YouTube it, he shows you how he makes his runs.
