would you say the brown hare is a lot quicker or would the moutain hare have abetter advantage because of the terrain

Brown hare pisses all over the whitey, even on thick heather. Have ran both on moors and allthough the brown doesnt run as well on heather as it does on flat land, it will still give a better show of itself than a whitey. The best runs on whiteys are the ones where you either hold your dog on and slip it once the hare has a start or when they get on some short heather or burnt stuff, that always seems to slow the dog down as the stalks hurt their legs
