pianoman 3,587
Just had a look at the Weihrauch website. They've issued a re-designed stock for the HW77 in beech with a flared and fluted forestock. The gripcap and white spacers have gone but it looks a beautiful stock, deserving for such a phenominally accurate spring rifle and I'd love one. It would fit the HW97 perfectly too. it would look stunning in black synthetic with a polished metal-finished rifle as with the HW97. That would make a fabulous HFT rifle in .177. www.wiehrauch-sport.de Simon Quote Link to post
Elliott 436
Nice. Its about time the HW77 was given a higher cheekpiece. I bet it will make the decision of HW97 v HW77 even more difficult for those looking to buy 1 Quote Link to post
Wildling 520
Flipping heck I was looking at buying a HW77 soon as well, think that I might just treat myself to one of these new Stocked ones instead 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Nice one Wasted! Try that Simmons White Tail Classic 6.5-20x50 you have on it and you'll be a very satisfied man indeed! The HW77 will match anyone's shooting. Especially with a quality scope like that on board. Regards. Simon Quote Link to post
Wildling 520
You know what that sounds like a cracking idea as I've been looking at a Hawke 4-16x50 Nite-Eye for the BSA Super-10. 1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
Thanks mazzachief. You have every right to feel satisfied with your HW97. They are absolutely lovely to shoot and just to look at! Can't help you with the inbox though. But all the best with your shooting your HW97. Pianoman Quote Link to post
johnwhit 4
I like the chequered and fluted forend, very nice. Not so sure about the comb of the stock though, I prefer the classic lines of the "old" 77, having said that I do occasionally like to use an old Williams aperture sight and hooded foresight from a HW80 with interchangeable elements. I've currently got my HW77K fitted with a Leapers Accushot 3-9x44 on 1 piece Sportsmatch 039c medium height mount, really low, 2mm clear, just enough room for the flip-up cover on the objevtive lens. Just my opinion of course, each to their own. ATB, John 1 Quote Link to post
johnwhit 4
I wonder how the hold sensitivity will be affected by the new stock design. John Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Probably no different John. Hold sensitivity is more a matter for our contact on the rifle, how it takes to our handling of it and how well, or not, we control and manage the amount of inherent recoil each and every individual rifle produces. There's bound to be some sensitivity, mind. I must say I'm more than happy with the classical line of the traditional HW77 stock and in particular, the neutral buttstock and wrist I have on mine. I love it for the fact that it is purely neutral and has no left or right cheekpiece on the comb. I guess the only way to know how the new design handles and shoots is to get hold of one and test it. Best wishes John for you and your own HW77K. Simon Quote Link to post

risingfriend 1,042
love the laminate stock very nice. Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
WOW! Aye! That's the new design alright Davy. Here they have it in the fancy laminated Lux finish. The white spacers and grip-cap are no more but, it has a nicely fluted rake to the forestock and a purposeful-looking buttstock I like the look of. And there's chequering to the forestock which, is about time it had some! In walnut or walnut-stained Beech that Weihrauch source well, I think it would look fabulous. It has that certain practical shootability look to it. I really love the look of it. Thanks for putting that up Davy I'm a bloody useless case at doing it with these things! Cheers mate.
