Bedlington Jacket

Recommended Posts

My pup will be around 6 months of age now, when is the best time to have her trimmed?

( ive been told the jacket will be better if i wait X amount of time) Shes still very black at the moment,no one believes me that shes going to go blue ?

In 20 years of having dogs this is my first none lurcher and i must say shes a great little dog.

I've not heard of certain time to clip them, I suppose wait till there coats fully changed from a big fluff ball. I've done my bitch twice now she's 14 months. If weather got hot again I would do her again. But when bushing she pulls alot of it out

Get some pics up mate? Where you get her from? What work you going do with her?

Id love to mate but one thing ive learned with beddys is that everyone thinks they own the best and anything else is crap( and i dont like my pup getting knocked  ).Which i think is strange because with how the breed has gone its pot luck on 90 % bred these days.

I have her for mooching and ratting which i hope she will take too.

bedlingtons are brilliant wee dogs, if the coat is starting to get matted and tatty as it will probably be changing to the adult coat then i would clip it down, as for the beddy x whippet coat i dont have a problem with my dogs' and i clip him down regular and it always comes back good as new :)

Clipped down..........
