snoopdog 1,256
only addvice i can give is dress smart and use your manners ..if you go with a crowd you will get no sense what so ever ..money dosent work either .i know a lad thats been into the coursing game for well over twenty years and has money to burn ...he cant get an inch of perrmission..i know a couple of lads who have got permission but lost it due to not sticking to boundries and taking more folk then they are allowed to..once you have permission look after the land like it is your own,its hard to gain permission but very easy to lose it...i have a good relationship with a couple of keepers and farmers..but if i brak the rules we agreed i will be off the land for sure...last season one of the keepers introduced me to another farmer who loves watching the dogs...i got permission on his land ..to be honest it aint the best land .but if i play my cards right im sure he will introdue me to someone else who has land....and it goes on from there..you start holding matches and take crowds you will lose it in a crack.... 6 Quote Link to post

torchey 1,328
I got my first permission on a little orchard shooting bunnies with the air rifle then it was a small 4acre field next door and from there it sort of snow balled i suppose...If people are happy with what your doing they will talk about it , if they ain,t they get someone else...If your dogs are good around live stock make sure you put that across first and show them they,re 100%..No matter if its an acre or a thousand acres put the effort in and show results thats the main thing :thumbs:but what ever permission you get ,you can never get enough Edited July 31, 2012 by torchey Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
I would say this thread has been side-tracked by a few personal issues but I will try to put it back on topic, asking permission to go coursing is an obvious non-starter mate,a farmer cannot give permission for illegal activities and by approaching one with that in mind is madness,I would try asking for a bit of ferreting as this has got me more land and sport than what I can hunt, also try out of your area where you have been caught coursing as the farmers will know of you anyway,I stick to hunting within the law these days and it has paid huge dividends making me many new friends in farmers that are pleased to see me and they actively seek me to control their numbers of rabbits when they swell beyond what is acceptable,a bad reputation is easilly gained but a good one takes years to build, farmers are not very trusting anyway but once their respect has been earned it will be there for ever,my lad hunts with me now and all the farmers know him and give him the same courtesey they give me,I am 54yrs old now and everywhere I go I am well recieved as they are all aware of me doing a good job controlling rabbit numbers, gaining your first little piece of permission is the hardest after that providing you have done a good job there it sort of snowballs on into all the surrounding farms and estates, the main thing is to always respect the farmers wishes and dress in country clothing, don't take loud mouthed idiots with no idea with you as you are only as good as the company you keep and most farmers do not like "townies",make sure all your dogs are broke to all stock including cats as they are on most farms these days, the biggest thing you're selling is yourself so you must speak well and have something to offer he has'nt already got, good luck,WM 1 Quote Link to post
inan 841
Thought we end on PW you still ball licking your partner xx Atb Cookie As you have emphatically confirmed, with your puerile response, you embrace the safety of the internet. . You are nothing but a shit stirring retard who has never made a post worth reading on any hunting site. All you seek is to make negative remarks about people who actually do what this site is created to promote, namely hunt, exchange hunting experiences and, pool knowledge. What have you ever contributed to a hunting site? Chalk Warren pulled you up on our behalf ,when you tried to slag our dogs off, because he has not only hunted with us and, seen our dogs in action, he also has a wealth of experience training ,conditioning ,and putting dogs in the field to do what they were bred for,and therefore knows when a dog is in running condition. You on the other hand are just a wannabee, who has nothing constructive to add, nor entertaining to share with the Forum . We've been out tonight and bagged 37 rabbits, doing pest control for a farmer .What the f**k have you done?. Played with yourself, while you tried to aggravate someone making an honest post? I must say,you have certainly confirmed that opinion of you so far. I hadn't even read what you said about our dogs, it had to be pointed out to me. To be candid , your opinion is absolutely worthless to me because you are a clown with no more sense than a chocolate mouse. Quote Link to post
