Cleanspade 3,322
Some good points there Cleanspade, but cant understand you discouraging your lads from terrier work if your concerned of the future of terrier work ,surely you should be encouraging them to get involved(if they where interested)and teaching them to preserve the working terrier? i agree with your point but in practice y6u cant fart in the countryside around me. local boys had an armed responce unit at them not long ago . they was out shooting rabbits with an air rifle. i have been pulled up numerous times . when out legitimately. i used hunting to keep me out of trouble when i was younger. now it will drop you in it . na i'd rather see em playin golf snooker or five a sides . i'll get out and about. and thatll do me Quote Link to post

Well if we Lose your OFFSPRING to the game, is that not abit like losing an Important LINE ? Can't teach an old Dog New tricks, but an OLD dog can Always show a young one a Few . Thus keeping the The EDUCATED young to teach their peers Rights & Wrongs.. If all that is Left is the Rouge element then it will go to the Showring and Nothing ,but cardboard cut outs of their former selfs.. Be a Shame..sure, they would have Plenty to Add can't make silk purses out of pigs ears an all that. Quote Link to post
bobby blackheart 1,209
All any of us can do is keep at it-show the next gen the correct way to conduct themselves, respect the dogs, respect your quarry, respect your permission, backfill etc-does not help when you have lads going out mob handed-20 dogs and all-there will always be these wankers attracted to the game-hopefully they just go back to steriods, pimped cars, and walking about with carpets under their arms-LOL-Dont forget that if you are TIDY there will always be Landowners who are willing to let you work your dogs-NO MATTER WHAT UNJUST LAWS ARE PASSED BY THE LOWLIFE SCUM THAT CONTROL THIS COUNTRY.I will never ever stop keeping EARTHDOGS and if it comes to the point where ALL TERRIER WORK IS OUTLAWED-THEN I AM PREPARED TO BECOME AN OUTLAW-DOGS,HUNTING ARE MY LIFE FULL STOP.BOBBY 12 Quote Link to post

BIG G wheton machine 1,594
the day they ban hunting over here they make me a criminal and a criminal i will stay, the governments are all eco this eco that but seem to forget that the most eco friendly way of controling ground vermin is with dogs only the targeted species gets culled. if they gave us the permission to control badger numbers on an open season of even 3 mnths then im pretty sure they would save millions each year on tb payments to farmers. terrier and hunting folk offer a service for free that would save billions over many yrs that could be spent on education , hospitals etc but instead they ban hunting in mainland uk just to please bird molesters, bunny fiddlers etc who havnt yet come up with any way or means of control to stop over populating numbers of pest species. fkn great britain my arse 4 Quote Link to post

Mosby 355
Terriermen have been in self preservation mode for as long as I can remember,we don't have a ban here yet but we all act as if there is one. Paranoia is rife always on the lookout for infiltrators, dog thiefs and all the other demons lining up to get us, we all follow this unwritten "omerta" and because we are only interested in our own individual interests most people don't care about bans or constraints as we'll just carry on as normal. Terrier work doesn't have to be driven 'underground' it is already seen as subversive ,a bit of a black art because we've already put it there.Like all things that are deemed secret and dark there's an element of rebellion and coolness that attracts the yobbos and repels the genuine young lads. Why would anyone thinking of getting into terriers or hunting with dogs even think about continuing their interest when you look at the tripe that's written on here on an hourly basis everyones show is s@@t, everyones dogs are s@@t, anyone selling a pup is a peddler and everyone outside the established cliques are c@@ts.Anyone looking at our world from the outside would give it a wide berth and find something else to get involved in. So glad to hear someone else say that. Quote Link to post
