jackers !!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

an over used word is jacker, normally to cover the inadequacies of the owner or to justify the need to get rid so as to make room for the next wonder cross. ive a dog here that will run himself to death before he will pull up or give in, does that make him a jacker :hmm: ive got an old dog aged 10 who`s lost all his pace, does that make him a jacker :hmm: ive a young dog here, who, when aged 12months couldnt catch a poatage stamp in a postbox, did that make him a jacker :hmm: preban ive seen dogs that didnt like the sharp end but were mustard on hares, did that make them jackers :hmm: i ve also preban seen dogs that excelled on teeth and hoof but couldnt hold a feather to a good winter hare, did that make them jackers :hmm: as i said a word thats very over used

Think you said it all bud.

as i said before this dog was bred for coursing, his owner traveled to england to run a comp, now he would be some bollox if his dog was not right, plus his expence, were not talking about pups, were talking about an adult dog that was bred for the quarry he was pursuing,no wind,no heart,NO OFFSPRING

As the man said its a word to often used. Two many people not willing to put in the time.Even with good lines. .Dogs dont train them self. ;)

yes it is ,but as i said if the man put in all that time and money going from ireland to the uk and the dog pulled, would you breed from it

Money cant guarantee a good dog.But a good line and some effort may.

ffs mate read what im saying the money he was out for tickets, hotel, fuel, and time driveing to england, then his dog jacked, big open land and no where to hide, whos to say he did not do it in ireland as well, wheres there wall, hedges ,could have pulled out of sight???????????

Dont know the man or the dog.Wasent there. :sorry:

Unfit; injured and not entered properly are the most common reasons for a dog pulling up ...   A dog I seen a few years back it wouldn't run a hare but would run a rabbit, it wasn't till he got it t

I videod the last Waterloo Cup, and on one course a black and white dog simply gave up the chase, when both dogs were being beat by the hare, and slowed downd, turned round and went walkabout !! The other dog carried on, even though the hare had it beat, and even went out into the rough after the hare. The black and white dog is a jacker, the other one isn't !

Cheers.

Now dont take this as arguing mate, because if i'm honest i've not read all the posts. But if that dog gave up...did it jack or was it using its brain as it knew there was no chance of a catch. Every dog, in every situation and every use of a dog is different. Some dogs dont continue their run due to injury (so fair play, there's the reason), others stop the run due to intelligence and that'll give you a dog that can make another run for you and not totatally knackered. This type of dog (usually feckin collies curs...lol) is one that will think on its feet.

So all "jackers" cannot be put into one basket. However, what is a jacker, i think its a dog that is not fit for purpose, and will continualy not run whatever it is intended for.

So in theory, its down to the owner not the dog. entered incorrectly is a major factor, poor fitness levels when working, wrong nutrition, put against the wrong quarry, not recognising an injury or following up on a suspect injury.....there are loads of reasons a dog might jack!!!! or not be jacking...lol

spot on that mate totaly agree

its not about a dog thats over ran any dog thats gets to many run s in a day out will jack

this is what i call a proper jacker a fit dog with no problums hit the brake on his first run

and if a dog does it once it will do it agan and its not down to the owner or brains

its a bad streek in the dog it is as simple as that

THIS IS A QUESTION FOR ALL AS I HAVE SAID ALREADY WOULD YOU PUT 500 POUND ON YOUR OWN DOG IF YOU NEW HAS RECORD FOR JACKING ???????????????????????????????????? ITS A STRATE QUESTION AND KNOWING YOUR DOG IS IN PERFECT CONIDITION

what his saying is if you seen the dog jack the week before would you or anybody be willing to put 500 on him,the dog ran for 4 mins then pulled, not sure how closely related the sligo express was to the black ass,but she did the same thing and was put in the van for the rest of the day,now make up your own mind, that line came from kings yard, and they were not the only ones from that line that did it

so if she was a jacker (an im not saying she was because i never seen her even on tape ) she produced good pups an prob 4 or 5 litter it would be a right fool to say it all came from the sire,s
