Hi there, i've been a shooter for some time now and have always thought that you couldn't shoot at night with a shotgun. A mate has told me that this is untrue and that i've been missing years of night shooting.

Could anyone let me know which is true.

Mongo (confused)

No such thing as silly questions .... only stupid answers. Its not my thing as I am more of a rifle person but what ever floats your boat, if you like it go for it. By the way, wellcome to the forum.

I do it regularly mate as i aint got a FAC yet, and have had great success, get a battery pack and a gun lamp with a barrel connector and bobs your uncle. :D

Had many foxes over the years, and many of them even when im out lamping with the lurcher. Nothing better then a fox coming screeming in to shotgun range day or night.

Cheers bob

PS make sure you tell the farmer tho and dont shoot to close to housing.

Good tip for lamping with a shottie. Replace its brass foresight bead, with one of the little red bead type ones, you cant see the brass ones even in lamplight, and the red ones are much better.

Do it quite often on our flat fields, brother on back of the van and a mate or me driving like fu*ck with the lights on full beam, get about 20 or so a night - obviously cant do it week in week out, but its good fun.
